Host a used item drive!
There are a lot of ways to help Austin Wildlife Rescue, and one of them is by hosting a used item drive. Though our work is only possible because of monetary and item donations, like our Amazon wishlist, there are many items that we could use in gently used condition.
Pillowcases and large bath towels for the animals - high need
Pitchers of all sizes and hand held whisks
Deer antlers which squirrels use to wear their teeth down – maybe you’ve seen a few on a hike!
Soft-sided playpens which are useful for so many animals. They keeps critters contained, offer great air flow on our outdoor porch, and do not damage feathers.
Large, XL and up adult jeans - our raccoons and squirrels love them!
Hard sided baby pool - 36 inches and under
Toilet paper and paper towels - brand new ;)

Share the funniest, most 80s prints on your pillowcases with your friends. Who knew maroon wouldn’t go with millennial pink?
Have a sewing machine and have a ton of flat sheets, but no pillowcases? Make some for us! The pillowcase size is perfect to line the cages. Now if we could find the right side on the fitted sheet…
Model those old jeans one last time and say “thank you'“ Marie Kondo style before giving them to our raccoons to sleep in.
You can share the link above with your friends, coworkers and family. Feel free either to gather all the items in a central place or tell them to drop the items of at AWR (MLK or Elgin from 9am-4pm).
